The corticosteroid medication that is used in injections helps reduce the inflammation and inflammatory pain. This allows you to improve flexibility and muscle strength through exercise without being limited with as much pain.
Sometimes we use imaging such as x-ray to help guide the injection to be sure the medication is being injected in the right location.
