Sometimes when an injury occurs arm or hand the pain remains even after he injury has healed.
This happens because the part of the nervous system develops a “memory” of the pain and continues to tell the brain that the there is still an injury even though the body has already healed.
This condition is called complex regional pain syndrome.
One way to treat this pain is to perform a series of strong nerve blocks to the part of the nervous system responsible for the “pain memory”.
The stellate ganglion is a bundle of nerves that lays on the outside of the spine and is a central point of access for nerves for this part of the body.
